The guesthouse "Wamu" is a large building covered in red tiles located along Prefectural Road 270, a 10-minute drive away from JR Izumo Minari Station. Surrounded by majestic mountains, many sightseeing spots can be found in the vicinity of Wamu, such as "Itohara Memorial Hall" owned by an old family in Okuizumo and the scenic "Oni no Shitaburui" gorge.
The program affiliate Mr. Sato runs a construction business and he had made use of a vacant traditional residence to set up Wamu. With its vast grounds and a spacious garden, you can relax indoors while enjoying the beautiful scenery outside.
As Mr. Sato also grows perilla and organic cotton, you can experience various activities including agricultural work such as harvesting, cooking with local vegetables, and visiting sightseeing spots in the area.
Accommodation here is also a recommended experience for anyone who is considering a return to rural life. (Accommodation is currently unavailable at this facility. Activities here are only for visitors on day trips.)

Perilla contains the essential fatty acid α-linolenic acid, a blood-thinning agent. This compound has attracted attention in recent years for its role in preventing adult diseases and enhancing the effect of dieting. If you visit at the right time, you will have the chance to harvest perilla and bring it home.
The harvest season for cotton is around September, and harvesting fluffy cotton is a really enjoyable experience.
