"Furusato Forest Park" is a large prefectural park with an area of around 40 hectares in the forest of Shinji. The "Satoyama Shizen Juku (Satoyama Nature School)," which focuses on nature and cooking activities, is held throughout the year at the educational exhibition hall in the park. This program allows everyone from children to adults to enjoy a variety of seasonal activities such as wreath-making using fruits and nuts, woodworking, cooking and pizza-making using wild vegetables, etc.
The exhibition hall is open year-round with the exception of the New Year holidays, and admission is free. You can visit exhibition rooms where you can learn more about the forest and take a look at various items manufactured from natural materials as well as information on activities.
There are also large playground amenities in the park where you can have fun in a natural environment that overlooks Lake Shinji. This spot attracts many people on weekends.
Don't miss the chance to visit Furusato Forest Park where you can get close to plants, put your hands to work, be invigorated by nature, and enjoy everything that nature has to offer alongside others!
