Nestled between rivers and mountains amidst a rich natural environment, the Marron Workshop Rider House is a popular stop for travelers who are touring the area on bikes, just as the name suggests.
The facility has built a reputation as a convenient base for sightseeing due to its location in Kakeya, a town situated just between the Izumo Taisha Shrine, famously home to the god of marriage, and the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine, a World Heritage Site.
When you arrive, you will be warmly welcomed with original cookies made using Japanese chestnuts and persimmons.
If you wish, the owner himself will prepare you a dish of yakiniku using locally captured wild boar meat, a rare treat.
For bathing, please use the Hata Onsen Manju-no-Yu Hot Spring. It is about a 5-minute drive from the Marron Workshop.
In general, you will have to prepare your own meals here, but you can also use the restaurant at the Manju-no-Yu Hot Spring.

[Wild boar yakiniku]
If you wish, you can try wild boar yakiniku.
The meat is served fresh and has no offensive odor. It has a pork-like texture with little fat. This delicious and rare dish is not to be missed.
