Savory ikayaki
"Shimaya" is an inn that faces the fishing port and is close to the wave-cut platform "Tatamigaura Rock-Flats Beach". In addition to enjoying fishing at the wharf, one can also ask fishermen to take them on a fishing trip out to sea. The ability to have fresh seafood allows salted and dried squid to be made. A stay will include a dinner with drinks and dishes made using squid. At lights, one can see lights from boats that are fishing for squid.
Dried squid
Open the squid and take off the skin. Dry it under the sun for about 3-4 hours (be careful not to dry it too much, which will make it hard). Make cuts on the dried squid and grill it. Dip it twice in a sweet sauce containing soysauce, mirin, sake, and sugar, and it's done.
