Making Fragrant Okuizumo soba noodles
Kominkadan in Okuizumo operates a soba shop for lunch, with a soba noodle-making experience available by reservation. The soba is Nihachi soba, made with buckwheat flour from the town of Okuizumo. You can learn how to add water, mix, knead, and cut the noodles from soba craftsman Masami Yamane. When it's ready, enjoy the noodles in the "wariko" and "kamaage" styles unique to Izumo soba.
