Tea plantations can be found in many mountainous areas whose land has been developed for human activities. Here in Ogihara Tea Plantation, you can take part in tea-picking and listen to stories about tea cultivation as part of the "Tea Plantation Experience" during the tea-picking season from spring to autumn. In addition, there is a 7-day, 6-night "Hamada Nature Adventure Village" held every summer where around 20 children gather to enjoy activities such as Zen meditation, sea bathing, base-building, pizza-making, bathing in a barrel, etc. "During this camp, children leave their home to take part in various activities amidst natural surroundings and strengthen interpersonal connections. We also enjoy the activities together with the children every year!" says the program affiliate Mr. Sasaki. You can also experience traditional tea ceremony and enjoy persimmon wine in a tea room with a wonderful view of the sea.
