Enjoy life sitting around the fireplace like in the good old days

This traditional residence offering accommodation was built 300 years ago. You can sit around the fireplace at night and hold a lively party with local cuisine and Japanese sake.
You can experience the traditional way of life in this mountain village of Okuizumo, where houses have a thatched roof and earthen floors, and where you can sit around the fireplace for a meal. For breakfast, the program affiliate Mr. Shirayama tries his best to serve rice cultivated by hand using traditional methods and cooked in an earthenware pot. At night, you can try to cook ingredients directly over the fireplace. As everyone sits around the fire, they tend to relax and conversations will flow.
As Mr. Shirayama is also a member of the "Okuizumo Organic Cotton Project," you can also experience cotton planting in spring and cotton harvesting in autumn. Don't miss this chance to get a feel of organically cultivated cotton which is rare in Japan.
Make sure you plant the cotton seeds with their buds facing upwards~
