Warming Up at a Beautifying Hot Spring in a World Heritage Site
Yunotsu-cho in the city of Ota is registered as a World Heritage Site as a part of "Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine and its culture landscape." The old townscape, with its red sesshu tiles, has been selected as a national preservation district for important historic buildings. Here, you can experience a private home stay at Yunotsuan.
Enjoy "Yunotsu magistrate rice" at Shinyu Cafe Kuranojo, a wooden Western-style building with the romantic air of the Taisho period, or take a stroll through the atmospheric hot spring area and the seaside where Yunotsu Port is located. Obanzai, handed down in the Naito family of Yunotsu magistrates. Chicken, vegetables, omelet strips, and nori seaweed sit atop rice, then are covered with broth. Yakushi-yu, which is certified as an "All 5" natural hot spring, features hot water flowing directly from a natural spring. You can walk the town and leisurely relax with delicious food and hot springs that warm you to the core.
